Cracked skin can happen to anyone when their skin barrier is compromised, usually due to prolonged periods of dry and irritated skin. Most often they are found in your hands or feet, however, depending on the cause it can develop in other areas.
 
Under normal conditions, natural oils on the skin prevents the skin from drying out. But if your skin doesn’t have enough of the oils, it loses the moisture and causes your skin to dry out and
eventually crack.
